Open classes of top universities have many Chinese fans

Watching online open classes of U.S. top universities has become indispensable for many young Chinese who find it a shortcut to make their ff14 gil life more meaningful, in addition to learning knowledge and language.

Guo Lei, a native of Guangzhou, has become addicted to various open courses after she watched the online video of "Justice: What`s the right thing to do."

Guo said she was immediately attracted by the topic and the discussion of the Harvard students about morality and justice.

She even introduced the case to her FFXIV Power leveling colleagues for discussion. Guo and her colleagues found more interesting curriculums online.

The inspiring and lively teaching style of American professors refreshed Guo`s impression about the traditional score-oriented Chinese educational system and prompted more Chinese to frequently search and watch open class resources of American top colleges, including Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and University of California Berkeley.

On China`s social networking websites netizens have spontaneously formed many study groups to share video resources and exchange opinions.

About 700 sina micro bloggers have posted different links to the videos. The Chinese portal 163.com has launched a special channel for cheap ffxiv gil open programs, providing more than 1,200 class hours of free videos.

Many Chinese have adjusted their daily timetable and some office workers have quit taking naps so they might watch videos at noon. Others download free online resources to their cell phones to watch while taking buses or just watching whenever and wherever possible.

On the popular portal Douban.com, a netizen named "an independent cat" called upon others to get up an hour earlier in the morning to watch the videos before leaving for work, which has mobilized a great number of followers.

Online open classes runescape money became popular after MIT published the first OpenCourseWare site in 2002. Many other elite universities quickly joined MIT to produce and share classes online.

Volunteers have added English or Chinese subtitles onto the videos to help more Chinese enjoy the videos without language difficulties.

Zhang Yinan, a sophomore at the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, is one of the 150 members of a translation team.

"The translation, proofreading and post-production process are time consuming. A lecture of 45 to 70 minutes in length usually takes more than rs gold 10 volunteers about 70 hours to finish," said Zhang.

"The prevalence of American open classes reflects the spirit of sharing," said Yu Xinke, Vice chancellor with the Continuous Education School of South China University of Technology.

"The open class of American colleges set up a good example of how to change and improve our teaching methods," said Wang Zhuli, Vice director of the Modern Education Technology Research Center of Sun Yat-Sen University in Guangdong.

He also suggested that lectures by some popular Chinese speakers and professors be translated into foreign languages and posted online to help foreign audiences understand Chinese culture.

Sealed with a signature

More young urban couples are going in for prenuptial agreements detailing the rules of conduct for almost every aspect of married life.

Luo Zheng (not her real name), 28, an office worker in Changsha, Hunan province, still pines for her former fianc, but does not regret the ffxiv gil actions that led to their split. Li Gen (not his real name), 31, and Luo met in 2007, and decided to register as man and wife on Dec 18 last year.

That morning, Luo gave several papers to Li, saying it was their prenuptial marital agreement.

It read: "If the husband has an extra-marital FF14 Power leveling affair, he has to pay 200,000 yuan ($29,300) to the wife."

That was not all. It went on: "If the husband`s mobile phone is not in service, he should report to the wife immediately and FFXIV Power leveling apologize; if the husband does not come home for one night, he should pay 1,000 yuan ($147) to the wife; in case of a quarrel, the husband should always be the one to apologize."

Li was not amused. He walked out and several days later, sent Luo a short message. "There is no meaning in getting married if we do not trust each other," he wrote.

Pre-nuptial agreements are intended to help determine how commonly held assets, as well as childcare responsibilities, will be shared in the event of a divorce. They usually stand up to the scrutiny of the relevant laws, except for those containing bizarre provisions.

For example, a wife who demanded that she have access to the short messages the husband sent to all his female friends, was said to have violated his rs gold civil rights and hence deemed illegal.

Government officer Yang Mi, 28, was luckier than Luo. Before getting married in 2008, she and her husband drew up a premarital agreement which stated that her husband would cook while she washed the dishes, and that she would clean the apartment while he ironed the clothes.

Yang`s husband earns about 20,000 yuan ($2,930) every month, but the agreement stated that he would give it all to Yang, who would then hand over 5,000 yuan for his monthly expenses.

The agreement drew no protest from Yang`s husband who saw his compliance with it as a way to express his love.

"It can avoid trouble after marriage. Besides, the couple will love each other more, as they know what their duties are," Yang says, and suggests that all women sign such agreements before they get married.

China Daily conducted a small survey of 20 couples under 30 in the city, among whom 16 had drawn up prenuptial agreements. They lay down the rules for almost every aspect of runescape money married life - from how to behave in front of others, and treat one another`s parents, to who controls the finances in the family.

In all 16 cases, it was the wife who initiated the agreement. While most of the husbands felt it was not necessary, they saw no harm in going along.

White collars turn into “Daifanzu”

Some people may wonder why the girl in the same office suddenly stopped dining with them; others may be curious about what`s inside the boxes that people carry in the early morning subway.

A national survey led by China Youth Daily earlier this month showed that over 70 percent of the 2,284 questioned were aware of Daifanzu and cheap ffxiv gil 18 percent admitted to being one.

Concerns such as rising prices and food safety have prompted many office workers in big cities to safeguard the quality of their meal as well as the money in their pocket.

Bring your own food

New graduate Yang Yang just found a job working for a website in Beijing.

"There are less and less options for a rs gold reasonable lunch around the office, especially one under 10 yuan ($1.5). I started to make my own food as soon as I started work; now I do it every workday," she said.

Although the editor with an international publication making good money, 27-year-old Laura Zhou also chooses to be a Daifanzu so that she can enjoy her own food in the office.

She was aware of rising prices but what worried her most were the frequent reports concerning food safety, from illegally recycled cooking oil to buy runescape gold contaminated vegetables.

And joining the Daifanzu is not just for girls; 26-year-old business consultant Si Zeyang makes lunch for himself, whenever he finds time.

"It is so important to eat healthy, and runescape money making my own food can do that," he said. "I recommend all office workers make their own lunch if time allows," he added. "If I have the time, I would like to cook and take my lunch [in] every day."

Expertise for better food

"The best way is to find the balance among a wide arrangement of foods such as meat, grain, vegetable and so on," Zhou Jian, a nutrition professor with the Beijing University of Chinese Medicine said.

Over-use of oil and sodium should be avoided, she added.

Canadian nutritionist Dolores Chung, director of the Hong Kong based Dynamic Health Centre, has some more detailed advice.

She says it is always important to use seasonable food. "I know big cabbages in winter are good in Beijing, some curried or spicy chicken, or mutton with ff14 gil rice, would be good for winter-eating too, with sauces to go with rice."

Fruits and salads are most healthy as they don`t require reheating and maintain nutrition.

Thermal containers, which can keep food warm for a few hours, are recommended to avoid losing nutritional value in the microwave.

"Just reheat for less than one minute or so… the vitamin C should still be kept," she said. "Always use a plastic lid, not fully covered, to keep the water in the food. Heavy meat should be avoided… better eat some foods which are easy to digest."

Justice courtesy of 'Brother Law'

While most college students spend their spare time in dorms or hanging around the campus, Guan Liming, 22, a junior at the Branch School of Huazhong Normal University in Wuhan, Hubei Province, spends much of his free time in courts and FF14 Power leveling arbitration sessions protecting the rights of his classmates.

"My major is law. By doing so I can offer some help to my schoolmates," said Guan Liming, who is known on campus as "Brother Law."

To date Guan has aided three friends in cases concerned with contract, labor, insurance laws and regulations regarding medical accidents.

Initial disappointment

Guan`s first case was ultimately a failure but it got him started when in November 2009 he tried to help several classmates who`d rented an apartment that was suddenly sold without their knowledge. The landlord refused to refund their FFXIV Power leveling deposit and rent and the students went to Guan for help.

"I decided to sue the home-owner immediately after I took over the case. I spent more than one month on the details of the case with the students and the new homeowner and tried every method to contact old owner. But I failed. " Guan said.

According to Guan, he was quite distressed but he did not give up.

Although the case was a bust, Guan became known by other students for his rs gold efforts and in March last year a classmate named Yang Yan asked for his aid.

Yang spent nearly 10,000 yuan ($1,500) to cure a backache, but her insurance company refused to pay anything towards her care. The insurance company said she had bought the insurance when she was suffering from the backache, not after. But it was a doctor`s error who mistakenly wrote "years" instead of "months."

Success at last

After the hospital refused several times, Guan decided to sue it. Several days later, the hospital called Guan and admitted it was the doctor`s fault and promised they would revise the time on Yang`s medical record to
buy runescape gold"several months". Finally, Yang received compensation.

The experience gave Guan a lot of confidence and made him famous on campus. Very soon, Guan succeeded in helping another friend named Xiaoyu (pseudonym) who had graduated in June 2010, found a job at a medical company but was fired in October without receiving her salary.

Works for free

Xiaoyu said she was touched by Guan`s help. "I wanted to give him money after he helped me but he refused it. He is a generous person."

"These students are not rich runescape money and I had a part-time job and didn`t need their money," he said. "I think the most difficult thing was that our opponents were mainly powerful companies, but we did not hold back because we believe the law can give us justice," Guan said.

Currently Guan is preparing for the National Bar exam. "I`ll keep on taking on cases while preparing for the exam because I want to be a lawyer," he said.

Love hurts when rich parents calculate cost

On the outside, Wang Yue looks like a man who has it all: he drives a smart BMW car, he wears sharp Armani suits and he carries designer Gucci bags.

Yet, there is one FF14 Power leveling thing he cannot have - the woman he loves. The 26-year-old was forced by his wealthy family to split from his girlfriend of four years "because we`re not a good match", or in other words, because she came from a poor background.

With the demand for prenuptial agreements rising nationwide, and not just among the rich, many fuerdai - the Chinese term for children born to powerful FFXIV Power leveling families - are starting to feel the pressure.

According to the reports, China`s first generation of self-made millionaires are particularly concerned about their children dating people raised in the countryside.

Wang, whose father owns several hotels and cheap ffxiv gil holiday resorts and whose mother is a real estate investor, said his parents were "visibly disgusted" when they met his ex, Xiao Mo.

"She is just an ordinary girl from a small town in Sichuan province," he said, his eyes lighting up as explained how they met while studying at Wuhan University in Hubei province. "We saw each other at a party of a mutual friend. It was love at first sight," he said, smiling.

His parents did not share his rs gold enthusiasm. "I never expected such an intense reaction," said Wang, recalling the time he took Xiao to meet his parents in the summer of 2007. "When they heard about her background, they were so disappointed. They warned me that the relationship would never work out."

In 2009, after years of fighting, Wang decided to break up with Xiao, who by then had moved back to Sichuan. The final straw had been when his parents threatened to sever financial ties with the couple if they married.

For money or love?

Faced with the prospect of their child marrying someone "unsuitable", wealthy parents usually resort to one of two options: engineer a breakup or demand a prenuptial agreement.

With inheritances worth billions of yuan at stake, "prenups" are designed to prevent fuerdai from falling prey to gold-diggers.
In fact, judging by a three-month study to buy runescape gold measure the attitudes of almost 1,000 students in Guangdong province, they have good reason to be cautious.

Roughly 60 percent of females polled by researchers with the Women`s Federation of Guangzhou admitted they want to marry a fuerdai who stands to inherit a large sum of money from his parents. More than half of male respondents shared the same sentiment.

Finding the one

Rich parents are increasingly playing matchmaker for their offspring, with varying success.

However even for well-matched fuerdai couples, their runescape money parents insist prenuptial agreements are still vital to prevent conflicts in the event of a divorce.

According to data provided by a Shanghai law firm, almost 90 percent of the divorce disputes it handles between people without prenups are over the division of property.

"Scientifically speaking," said Zhang at the Shanghai Psychological Society, "shared attitudes and values, as well as similar upbringings and education backgrounds, can potentially provide the foundations for a solid married life."

“However, although a parent`s desire to find a good match (for their child) is wise, it`s not essential,” he added.

Spirit of Hong Kong

The cute but clumsy pink piglet, McDull, just might be the most contagious thing this summer. Hong Kong`s favorite homegrown comic character is returning in his ffxiv gil latest adventure, McDull Kungfu Ding Dong Ding, on July 24.

The series of McDull films actually runescape money began in 2001 with the film My Life as McDull. He was a dim-witted child who had many dreams, and, even when he lost one he got new ones.

This latest film, following in that seriously funny ff14 gil tradition, has McDull studying taijiquan to prepare for an international kindergarten martial arts tournament. While the audience laugh their heads off, they also can`t help getting a bit tearful over the unsophisticated but upbeat piggy.

This film is not set amidst the typical crowded FF14 Power leveling skyscrapers and street bulletins of Hong Kong, but features the Wudang temple and Three Gorges Dam instead.

The story takes place during summer vacation: Some of McDull`s classmates go off to New Zealand to a ski resort, some study Mandarin at Peking University, and others travel to Oxford to study English. McDull has to go to Wudang Mountain to FFXIV Power leveling study taijiquan. With no air conditioner, or TV programs he sheds a few tears by himself. Can the underdog cope?

Just like before, his mother Ms Mak has great hopes for Mcdull in his martial arts studies. But, at Wudang, McDull apparently gets more fun out of hanging out with his new friends. The piglet even cooks instant noodles in an alchemy stove. Of course, he can`t escape being badly punished for that bit of mischief.

Things keep changing until he discovers a big cheap ffxiv gil secret, which becomes his motive for learning. One message the film conveys is that a great project takes a long time to complete and we have to learn to wait for things naturally.

"McDull represents the spirit that the people of Hong Kong are beginning to lose. People are putting too much emphasis on efficiency and rs gold immediate results," said the McDull creator Brian Tse. "But, Mcdull is slow and patient, and not afraid of repeated failures."

The cartoonist Alice Mak, Tse`s wife, added: "He has a heart of gold and you`re always afraid that he`s too simple-minded or honest to survive in this brutal buy runescape gold world. But I wouldn`t want him to ever grow up in the cartoons. In fact, we all have part of the not-so-perfect McDull in our bodies."
